Make America a Democracy Again

about us

About us, and about you!

We are a small team of retired Americans worried about our country. We personally funded this website. The vendors we link to are completely independent; we don’t earn a penny from your purchases. We think encouraging you to wear democracy slogans can make a difference.

When you wear a MADA message—indoors, outdoors, or online—many people will see it.

People who agree may feel less alone, more willing to speak up, to act, to vote for democracy in 2026. They might even smile. Or give you a high five.

And if someone asks what your message means—tell them. You’re wearing it because you’re concerned. Maybe say something like:

  • “It feels like we’re slipping into authoritarianism, and that scares me.”
  • “This doesn’t feel like the America I grew up in. Too much meanness, revenge and cruelty. Too little public deliberation and compromise.”
  • “I don’t like what’s happening with [choose one or two]: immigration, science, healthcare, taxes, the Supreme Court, universities, Medicaid, Congress…”

And if someone gives you a dirty look? Maybe they think the loss of democracy is worth the changes they like. Well, you know better: you’re on the right side of history.
